We’ve all memorized the Golden Rule: Treat others as YOU would like to be treated. Turns out there’s a higher standard: The Platinum Rule, which says: treat others as THEY WANT to be treated. And as we honor each other’s worth and dignity it’s important to acknowledge that everyone has the right to set their own boundaries.

It’s with sadness that I write to tell you of the passing of Don Smith on Wednesday, June 29th, after sudden health complications. He was surrounded by his loving family.

We weep for the millions of people and families that will be harmed–physically, spiritually, financially, emotionally–because of this decision. We mourn that this ruling rolls back many decades of advances for reproductive health, rights, and justice. And we sit with the numbness, despair, and anger we feel knowing that white Christian nationalist misogyny has won the day.
