Video Technicians, Part-Time

JOB SUMMARY: A part-time position, approximately 3 hours each Sunday, plus additional hours for other events as needed. The Video Technicians will provide technical support for Sunday worship services, and other Fellowship events such as congregational meetings if requested and available.Â
Be responsive to and communicate with the Minister and A/V Coordinator.
Ensure the smooth operation of the audio and video equipment during services or events; coordinate with other Techs so that the audio and video requirements of live streaming (Zoom, etc.) are met.
Education, Experience, and Skills Required:Â
- Strong A/V equipment knowledge; computer and software knowledge a plus
- Ability to take direction from and collaborate with a variety of worship leaders
- Compatibility with the mission, vision, and principles of UUFA and its programs
- Dependable work hours and job performance, and good interpersonal skills

Childcare Provider, Part-Time
Job Summary:Â
Provide safe, welcoming, developmentally appropriate care for children up to age 12 during Sunday morning services and supervision/care for children of various ages during other church activities, including but not limited to meetings, classes, and special all-church events.Â
Childcare providers ensure a safe environment for children and allow parents/guardians to participate fully in church life. Depending on the needs of the congregation and DRE, this may involve caring for infants and toddlers in the nursery, assisting in the RE classroom, or accompanying children in the sanctuary during worship services. Groups under care will comply with Georgia regulations for caregiver to child ratios.Â
Hours:
This position requires availability 3 Sunday mornings a month (4 during months with 5 Sundays) and the first Wednesday evening of every month.
This position requires two hours a week on Sunday morning (10 am-12 pm) from September through May, two and a half hours on the first Wednesday evening of the month (e.g., 5:45-8:15 pm). Longer hours on some Sundays and other times as arranged with supervisor, sometimes in consultation with staff, committees or teams who need childcare to support a church event.

Job Duties:Â
Infant/Toddler Care and Various Age Childcare
- Be responsive to and communicate with Childcare Coordinator and Director of Religious ExplorationÂ
- Provide care for infants and toddlers in the church nursery during Sunday morning services
- Assist with Religious Exploration classes (children’s programming) for children up to age 12
- Accompany children in sanctuary during worship services and assist with quiet activities
- Take attendance and ensure that parents/guardians sign children in and out of the nursery.
- Consult with parents/guardians regarding the child’s health history, allergies, and any other concerns regarding the child’s well-being while in the care of the nursery.

With regard to safety and discipline, caregivers will:
- Use positive language to direct or redirect children.
- Refrain from physical discipline or punishment.
- Maintain a space that is physically and emotionally safe for all children and caregivers.
- Except for emergencies when one caregiver may need to go for help, assure that no less than 2 adults/caregivers are present with infants/toddlers/children at all times.
- Ensure that children in diapers or in the process of potty-training remain clean and dry through the use of frequent diaper checks and potty breaks.
- Ensure that diaper changes and potty breaks are observable by a second caregiver.
- Communicate concerns, if any, to parents/guardians upon pick-up.
- Report concerns, problems, accidents, or suggestions to the Director of Religious Exploration (DRE) immediately.
- Pick-up toys and clean nursery space/classroom prior to departing; report any concerns to the DRE.
- Provide supervision and care for children of various ages during UUFA activities by arrangement
- Ensure that parents/guardians sign children in and out of the provided childcare
- Ensure children have appropriate and safe toys and activities
- Facilitate and participate in age-appropriate activities with the children, such as games, role playing, reading and storytelling, songs and fingerplays, or simple crafts.
- Assist children in attaining age-appropriate skills, such as self-care, care of belongings, manners, cooperation, and engaging in community.
Education, Experience, and Skills Required:Â
- Experience caring for and leading activities with infants, toddlers, and children
- CPR and First Aid certification is preferred and required for the job (UUFA will cover the cost of the certification course if needed.)

- Physical strength and agility to provide care for children
- Understanding of child development and age-appropriate activities
