Fall Equinox Celebration Sept. 22

Celebrate the start of fall, the time of year when the sun crosses the celestial equator, heading southward, and the amount of day and night are equal.

Democracy in the Crosshairs:  Project 2025

During the Sept. 15 participatory event hosted by Steve Lize, attendees will learn about what policies are proposed and be asked to share thoughts on the potential impact on American democracy, representative government, and civil rights. 

September 14:  Bad Faith: Christian Nationalism’s Unholy War on Democracy

All are invited to the Athens premiere of “𝘉𝘢𝘥 𝘍𝘢𝘪𝘵𝘩: 𝘊𝘩𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘯 𝘕𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘮’𝘴 𝘜𝘯𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘺 𝘞𝘢𝘳 𝘰𝘯 𝘋𝘦𝘮𝘰𝘤𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘺 that traces the history of Christian Nationalism and exposes the real threat to our democracy today.

This non-partisan event is proudly hosted by the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Athens in partnership with the Athens Anti-Discrimination Movement (AADM), the Economic Justice Coalition (EJC), Indivisible Georgia District 10, the New Georgia Project, Aids Heathcare Foundation, The People’s Agenda, and UU the Vote.

September 14:  LatinxFest 2024

This cultural festival celebrates Latinx heritage in the Athens community. Food, music, and dance, both traditional and modern, highlight the event. UUFA is a sponsor of this event.
