SECOND LOOKERS NOVEMBER MEETING
UUFA member Dr. Barbara Schell will address “Tips for Navigating Health Care Challenges and Healthcare Providers” at the November meeting of Second Lookers. Join us in the AWE Room at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, November 11 for Barb’s presentation.
She has over 50 years’ experience as an occupational therapist during which time she has worked as clinician, rehabilitation manager, faculty member, author and editor of occupational therapy textbooks.
In this talk she will share practical tips to help you navigate health challenges, including understanding different types of health care practitioners and what to expect from them. Most of the session will focus on practical strategies to deal with issues that arise from our own aging, illness and disability.
These tips come from not only her professional background but personal experiences dealing with her own health, that of her family, and her friends. Since we all are experts in our own lives, discussion, questions and recommendations from participants will be encouraged.
