YoUUr Help Needed for our Religious Exploration Program!

One of the priorities for this congregation is to have a thriving Religious Exploration program now that we are beginning to regather. We’ve had several children and youth at services this month, and our outstanding new RE director, Kahla Childers, is struggling to find folks to help her.

Since our “Honoring the Children and Youth” policy requires two adults in each class, on Sundays Kahla needs one additional person to help. Two folks are required on the one Sunday our DRE is off each month. The policy states that folks who volunteer should:

  • Have been a congregant for a year or have references from folks including the minister or DRE at their former congregation;
  • Have completed a background check (If you haven’t in the past two years, contact Kahla or Shaye for help in doing so: UUFA pays for it);
  • Be fully vaccinated, including a booster.

A couple of additional requirements will be put into place as our RE program gets underway for the next program year.

Volunteering in RE is open to anyone who meets these criteria, whether you are a parent of one of the children who attend or not. Kahla has everything planned and set up for you; there’s no homework involved!  PLEASE consider doing this

Kahla’s plans are below. Please email her for information or volunteer or let her know when you can volunteer on this SignUpGenius form.

Kahla has plenty of volunteers for May.

June 5: This is the DRE’s Sunday off in April, so RE will need three volunteers, a leader, an assistant, and a backup. I’ll leave an easy curriculum and everything set up for you!

June 12: We need an assistant and a backup.

June 19 and 26: Intergenerational Services. No RE.
