UUFA is excited to announce that Kahla Childers has accepted the position of Director of Religious Exploration at UUFA.
Come to UUFA on Saturday, Feb. 12 from 3-4 p.m. for a special drive-by event to welcome Kahla! She will be joined by Rev. Lisa in front of the building to meet you as you drive through to receive a bag of crafting goodies that you can use at a virtual crafting session with Kahla on Sunday, Feb. 13 from 3-4 p.m. (Click here to join the session.)
Kahla first began connecting with children at the YMCA as a summer camp counselor and later became assistant director of youth programming. Passionate about supporting children and families, she has worked in various roles such as a crisis counselor for The Trevor Project, as a professional nanny, as an infant sign language instructor, and as homeschool co-op educator. Currently, she leads a prenatal support group with Athens Parent Well-Being, providing resources and community for new parents.
Kahla lives in Athens with her encouraging husband, two wonderful children, eight chickens, and three cats. She received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of North Georgia. A lover of movement and play, she enjoys performing dance and aerial arts, reading, and spending time in nature.
