Update–Linnentown Reparations Special Collection

At the May 12 worship service, a special collection was taken for the Linnentown reparations project.  Over $1,500 was collected to which both the UUFA Board of Trustees and the UUFA Social Action Committee (SAC) had pledged $500 each, so a check for $2,533 from UUFA will be sent to Athens Reparations Action.

If you were not able to participate on May 12 but would still like to give to the Linnentown reparations project, please visit athensreparationsaction.com/donate.

Athens Reparations Action invites all to Linnentown Speaks, a celebration of Linnentown and the delivery of the community reparations payments on June 23 at 4 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church, West (205 North Chase Street, Athens).

Many of the first descendants will be speaking about their experiences during the ceremony, which will be followed by dinner in the Fellowship Hall.  Please mark your calendars and RSVP:  tinyurl.com/ARAjune23.
