The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Athens (UUFA) offers many opportunities for you to nurture your spirit, lend a helping hand, assist with changing the world, and meet other members and friends of the Fellowship.
We advertise classes, discussion groups, hands-on service opportunities, and more through a weekly email, monthly Tapestry newsletter, Sunday announcement sheet, and on our website. Most every activity is open to newcomers, so feel free to follow your interests.
Our Fellowship programming organizes its activities around ‘ministry clusters’. Lay Ministers assist the Rev. Alison Eskildsen and staff in the programmatic life of UUFA. Each Lay Minister oversees a cluster of groups with similar goals or activities. On our website, the drop-down menu bar provides a glimpse of these clusters.
A Cluster Overview
Spiritual Arts includes Sunday morning services, music, writing groups, and other groups whose purpose is to enrich our spiritual understanding or connections.
Learning includes Sunday Forums, adult education classes, children and youth religious exploration, and other learning activities.
Social Justice includes a focus on the various local charities we support as well as the more challenging institutional and governmental changes we strive for in order to create a more just and loving world.
Fellowship includes a variety of activities that help us get to know each other and enjoy each other’s company. We have dinner groups, Scrabble game nights, hiking activities, and similar interest groups and events.
Stewardship involves managing resources well. To be good stewards of the Fellowship, we must pay attention to how we spend our human, financial, and environmental resources so that we don’t waste any.
