April 3: Flower Communion and New Member Welcome

Lo, the Earth awakes again, and our hearts bloom with joy! The Fellowship will welcome a number of new members on Saturday, April 3, and as part of our celebration, we are doing a drive-through flower communion and handing out “bags of love.”

To be a part of the joyous event, get together a few flowers (from your yard, a roadside wild spot, or the grocery store) and bring them to the drop-off lane at UUFA from 2 to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday April 3.. As you drive through, you will both give flowers and receive some in this traditional UU Flower Communion.  (In case you’re not familiar with the tradition, Rev. Lisa will tell the “origin story” of flower communion on Easter Sunday, April 4). A group of youngsters has also put together small “bags of love” with an Easter/Spring theme to give as a gift..

Then park in the parking lot (guides will be available to help you find a spot) and be prepared to welcome new members who will be signing the membership book and the UUFA covenant from 2:30 to 3. It’s a chance to welcome new folks and to see some of your friends and staff, too!
