An Opportunity for Service: UUFA Family Promise Volunteer Facilitator

UUFA Family Promise Volunteer Facilitator Mark Hodges is stepping away from this position.  Many thanks, Mark, for your service.
In participating in the Family Promise program, UUFA partners with Holy Cross Lutheran Church in hosting several Athens area homeless families four weeks a year.  During each week, UUFA members and friends are asked to provide meals, serve as evening hosts, spend a night as evening hosts, or come on the final Sunday to be day hosts.
The next UUFA co-hosting week is February 29 through March 7.
What does the Family Promise Volunteer Facilitator do?
Family Promise Volunteer Facilitator Duties:

  • Coordinate UUFA volunteer participation in hosting Family Promise families four weeks a year in support of Holy Cross Lutheran Church
  • Coordinate UUFA volunteer participation in assisting Family Promise “graduates” in moving into new homes
  • Seek out new volunteers in Fellowship as volunteers for Family Promise and help them get training
  • Promote the Family Promise cause in various ways in the Fellowship
