UUFA has been in partnership with the Unitarian Church in Okland, Romania, for over 25 years. Members from our congregation have cherished their visits to this little village in the Székely Land, an ethno-cultural region in eastern Transylvania. Our Fellowship has enjoyed a number of visits by the minister, his family, and the youth of Okland. Our friendship has developed as the family of their minister, Levente Keleman, has grown. Rev. Kelemen has been struggling with cancer for the past couple of years and will be undergoing more chemotherapy. Supporting the Kelemen family and their community during this difficult time from afar is hard. We would like to send messages of love and support. Please stop by the Partner Church Team table after the service to write or sign cards to Rev. Kelemen, his wife Eva, their children (Tas, Elod, and Kincso), and the Okland community.
The Partner Church Team will meet Sunday, August 25, after the worship service in the Kleiner Heritage Room. Please grab a plate of food and join us to plan our next year of connections with our Unitarian roots!
