New plants on the grounds of UUFA include
Shrubs: Wax Myrtle, Itea/Sweetspire, Spirea, Inkberry Holly, Fothergilla, Beauty berry
Perennials: Blue-eyed grass, Verbena, Coreopsis Zagreb, Liatris spicata, Fire works Goldenrod (NOTE: According to several sources, the windblown pollen of ragweed causes hay fever, NOT the sticky pollen of goldenrod which pollinators love! Click here to read more on this.)
Grasses: Pink Muhley, White cloud, Muhley Hameln
For pictures of these, look for the poster displayed in the Welcome Hall on Sunday!
All of these grasses were ordered through Cofer’s Nursery on Mitchell Bridge Road. In addition to a 15% discount, the manager donated three of the large white muhley grasses.
