Worship in February

All-Fellowship theme: Listening

February 3 – Be Still & Listen  After hectic holidays and celebrations, take time to let go of your busy-ness, sit quietly, and listen to what you might not be hearing. Service led by Rev. Alison Eskildsen, with special music.

February 10 – What Lies Behind the Words  Parker J. Palmer writes, “If we want to support each other’s inner lives, we just remember a simple truth: the human soul does not want to be fixed, it wants simply to be seen and heard.” It is the mind’s nature to think, and so even the most experienced listeners will repeatedly slip into judging and analyzing.  What if you could observe this happening in yourself, learn to set aside thinking for later, and open your heart?  What if Unitarian Universalists became known for being the very best listeners?  Imagine the impact of a spiritual discipline of listening could have on your life, the congregation, and even the world. Service led by UU Atlanta’s Associate Minister, Taryn Strauss, with the Chalice Choir.

February 17 – The Spirit of SUUSI  Listen to the stories of UUFA attendees at the Southern Unitarian Universalist Summer Institute (SUUSI). Music by a UUFA band.

February 24 – Guest Speaker Details to follow soon!
