DESCRIPTION:Transgender Day of Remembrance (#TDOR) is an annual observance on November 20 honoring the memory of those whose lives were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence.\nIn November 1998, Rita Hester was murdered for being transgender. Her murder has yet to be solved. A year later in the city of San Francisco, a candlelight vigil marked Rita’s death and others who had died for simply being or being seen as transgender.\nThe gathering will begin at 6 p.m. in the sanctuary.\n\n\n\n\nTransgender Day of Remembrance Prayer\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBy Sunshine Jeremiah Wolfe\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOn this Transgender Day of Remembrance,\nwe remember those who have been murdered for being who they are,\nthose who face violence on a daily basis,\nthose who have lost loved ones, and those who worry for loved ones.\nMay we come to a time when we cease to shame children around gender roles and expression,\nwhere we allow for freedom and exploration of identity and expression,\nand to a world that operates from love especially when things are difficult and confusing.\nMay all of us who live with the threat of violence find support, strength,\ncommunity, hope, and safety from violence.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the Author\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n Sunshine Jeremiah Wolfe  ( https://www.uua.org/offices/people/sunshine-jeremiah-wolfe )\n\nRev.
