Winter 2012 SGM Registration Is Complete.
Watch for 2012-2013 registration beginning in August, 2012!
Thank you for your interest in Small Group Ministry (SGM) with the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Athens (UUFA)!
Whether this is your first time signing up or you are a long time group member, SGM provides an excellent opportunity for UUFA member, friends and newcomers to make new and deeper connections, build community within our congregations, develop our spiritual selves and beliefs, and take action in our broader community. We are hopeful you will find your involvement with SGM meaningful and fulfilling.
For the first time, UUFA Small Group Ministry is offering registration in January for people who want to join groups in February for the remaining months on the 2011-2012 SGM year which runs through September. Everyone will register for the 2012-2013 year at that time.
Small Group Ministry involves groups of 2 facilitators and ~8 members meeting 2 times per month for 2 hours. These meetings typically involve group members getting to know each other, having readings and discussions on topics of the group's choosing, and a chance to explore ideas about life, spirituality, and the human condition in a safe and supportive setting. Groups have the option to provide a community service within or outside UUFA. Trained facilitators are present at each meeting to help orient you to the group and support your experience and involvement in the group.
For more questions, feel free to contact Andy Case-Simonson, SGM Coordinator, at andy.case@yahoo.com or 678-677-4851. More information about SGM is located on the UUFA Website: http://www.uuathensga.org/sgm/index.html. Let us know if there is anything we can do to help you make an informed decision about becoming a member with SGM.
